Essilor Roadpilot

Essilor’s Roadpilot lens combines coating and design technologies to improve driver confidence and comfort particularly during night-time and low light conditions.

It is offered with a Crizal Drive anti-reflective coating, which Essilor says reduces distracting glare from headlights, streetlights and wet surfaces with up to 90% fewer reflections than a simple hard coat.

Essilor UK managing director Tim Precious emphasises the importance of protecting eyes from glare: ‘Driving without decent glare protection is risky and stressful. Statistics show night-time driving is when most accidents happen, is when 17 million UK drivers struggle to see, when 31% of UK motorists refuse to drive and 43% report blurred vision.’
