Harrogate optometrist Mike Procter is hoping to raise over £3,000 for the Macular Disease Society by travelling the UK in three dimensions.
Procter's journey, to commemorate his 50th birthday, involves cycling the width of the UK coast to coast, cycling the length from Land's End to John O'Groats and, for the third dimension, performing a parachute jump.
He felt that with '3D-cinema leaping into the spotlight this year', 3D-vision would be a topical theme for a fundraising challenge.
Accompanied by his two brothers-in-law and his three sons, Procter completed the first stage of the trip in July in two days and intends to ride from Land's End to John O'Groats over 14 days in August.
