Forty people from the profession parachuted from 10,000 feet to raise money for an optical charity celebrating its 40th year in existence. Fight for Sight, which was founded in 1965, received strong support from those who jumped - all had to raise a minimum of 350. Participants included Ian Crompton and Jenny Ashworth of K J Green Opticians, Benfleet (pictured), and Haverhill Specs Direct adviser Vicky Rampley said: 'It's something I've been wanting to do for ages but I've got a real fear of flying so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to manage it. Doing it for a charity gave me that extra oomph to make sure I got out the door and I'm so glad I did.'
