Collecting 810 pairs of used spectacles for charity is no mean feat but Specsavers Sittingbourne managed it in just one day.
The Kent practice donated the glasses to Vision Aid Overseas' international recycling scheme, disassembling a fine work of art created by assistant manager Sarah Gillam, and optical assistants Sophie Sussex and Lauren Morgan (pictured left to right).
Store director David Moorman said: 'The reaction to the campaign was fantastic, we'd never seen the store so busy. It's such a worthwhile cause as this is not only preventing specs from ending up in landfills, but also helps hundreds of people in the charity's overseas programmes.'
