ABDO’s NCC releases myopia position paper

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ (ABDO) National Clinical Committee (NCC) has issued a paper on myopia, its treatment and recommendations for advice to patients.

Focusing on the role of dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians in myopia management, the position paper is located in the policy and regulations section of the ABDO website.

The paper discusses how it is vital that dispensing opticians (DOs) have up-to-date, evidence-based and/or best practice knowledge around myopia management and that they continue to keep up to date in this subject area. It also mentions that DOs should be seen as a source of objective, knowledgeable and up-to-date information on myopia management research.
