A consultation day was held by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) on October 31 for board, staff and members to discuss the body’s activities.
During the meeting, an update was provided on the General Optical Council’s review of the Optician’s Act, as well as the Education Strategic Review and dispensing optician apprenticeships.
Attendees were updated on ABDO’s financial statements, CPD, communication activities and sustainability campaign, and were given a preview of next year.
ABDO president, Daryl Newsome, said: ‘The event went well, with six reports from senior staff before our question and answer session. Overall, I felt the day was successful and fulfilled its purpose.’
