Aces clinic approved by Cheshire & Merseyside ICB

Community eye care provider Aces has won approval from Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB) to begin treating NHS cataract patients at an Optical Express clinic in Liverpool. 

Stephen Hannan, clinical services director at Optical Express and Aces, highlighted the scale of the challenge of waiting lists for NHS cataract surgery and said: ‘We’re very proud to be helping to reduce it.’ 

Aces has also secured approval from several other ICB areas nationwide to deliver the same NHS service. Patients referred for cataract surgery could expect to undergo procedures within just two to four weeks.
