A reception was held at the House of Lords earlier this month to showcase services for visually impaired teenagers and young adults.

The event was organised by charity Action for Blind People and included demonstrations of tablet and smart phone features designed to help young people with sight loss be more independent.

Stephen Remington, chief executive at Action for Blind People, said: 'Clever technology, start-up training and support, and a forward thinking attitude among employers, mean today's visually impaired people should have the same life-chances as their sighted counterparts.'
