Adidas has launched the Terrex Fast lightweight mountaineering sunglass, a model designed for testing mountain conditions whose frame is made from shatter-proof SPX material.
The design features a foam skeleton which clips in behind the lenses and sits close to the face to protect the eyes from UV rays, damp or cold air, along with snow and ice crystals that can be encountered when climbing. The foam can be removed if the wearer wants a more conventional looking frame. The nose pads and temples are adjustable to ensure perfect fit when using either option. In addition, the temples can be removed completely and the front section can be worn with the supplied headband.
The lenses use LST technology to ensure maximum protection from extreme UV rays and improve contrast and compensation in varying light levels. Lenses can be quickly replaced should light conditions change dramatically.
The manufacturer added that its ClimaCool ventilation system allowed for condensation-free vision. For patients requiring visual correction, the Terrex Fast frames can be fitted with the Adidas Performance Rx Insert.
