Adlens has appointed Michael Ferrara (above) as its executive chairman. Ferrara will lead Adlens through what it described as a new phase of growth which coincided with the first market launch of its products in Japan earlier this year.
A former chairman of the Vision Council of America, Adlens said he brought multi-sector international experience, having been chief executive at X-Rite and Marine Optical. Ferrara said: 'Adlens has tremendous specialist technological and innovation expertise. We will announce product launches from our innovation pipeline later this year and throughout 2012.'
Sjoerd Hannema takes over as CEO of Adaptive Eyewear, a social enterprise delivering Adlens' self-adjustable products to humanitarian aid organisations.
