Alcon campaign delivers results

Alcon's consumer advertising campaign for its Opti-Free express contact lens solution resulted in more than 1,000 practices signing up to its Elite Stockists scheme.

The campaign was designed to target contact lens wearers who purchased their solutions from different outlets such as supermarkets and pharmacies. The company stated that more than 87 per cent of its stockists saw an increase in the number of contact lens wearers visiting their practices. Cass Khan, Alcon marketing manager, said: 'We are particularly pleased that not only has there been such a fantastic response from the consumer, but we have been able to actively demonstrate our support for the Elite Stockists, who in turn have benefited directly from such an increase in sales.' The second phase of the campaign begins this month, with mailings and advertisements in national print media.
