Health Minister Ben Bradshaw MP will address an Eye Health Alliance fringe event at the Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth later this month.
The event, 'Diversity in commissioning - opportunity or a choice too far?' is part of the Alliance's efforts to raise the profile of eye health and eye care among politicians.
The Eye Health Alliance is a member of the Health Hotel - a collaborative venture of 36 health organisations working together to put on a series of health policy events to attract politicians at each of the political party conferences.
Speaking on behalf of the Eye Health Alliance, David Hewlett said: 'We are delighted to be raising the profile of eye health and eye care with the new ministerial team and pleased that Ben Bradshaw is attending our event. This is our second year at the party conferences and thanks too to the mass lobby of MPs by LOCs last year, the profile of eye care among Parliamentarians has never been higher.'
