AMD workshop launched

The first of several proposed age-related macular degeneration workshop events was launched in Bristol last week.

Building on the success of last year's Dry Eye Workshop, a winner at the 2012 Optician Awards, the AMD Workshop, has been developed by Andy Clark Practice Building in liaison with Spectrum Thea. Delegates were taken through a series of lectures, workshops and a peer-review exercise by optometrist Dr Scott Mackie (left) and consultant ophthalmologist Mike Potts (right).

They also completed a short examination for a certificate and a place on a register held by Spectrum as evidence of their experience in this area. Events are planned around the UK in the coming months.
