Specialist spectacle filter supplier MediView has launched MigraLens, a flicker and glare-absorbing filter to help manage and soothe light-sensitive migraine.
Available in a range of branded plano eyewear, including fit-overs to use over prescription glasses, MigraLens is targeted at the estimated 40 per cent of sufferers who are light sensitive. Designed to filter red and blue light, MigraLens is an off-the-shelf product described as effective in minimising the red/blue output from sources such as sunlight, fluorescent and energy saving lighting, computer and TV screens.
Lee Tomkins, director of Migraine Action, said: 'Our members have found that MigraLens is able to minimise the problems caused by flicker and glare and we are confident that it will become a useful new addition to existing migraine treatments available to light sensitive sufferers.'
