Association targets 1m children in UK living with undiagnosed vision problem

New educational resources on children’s eye health have been released by the Association of Optometrists (AOP).

The Association estimated that one million children in the UK live with an undiagnosed vision problem. Its latest range of educational materials included videos, presentations, lesson plans and worksheets; accessible to members of the AOP website.

‘Parents may be shocked to know how many children have undiagnosed vision problems. Our new resources help members raise awareness of this important issue both in their practice and the local community,’ said AOP professional adviser Geoff Roberson. ‘We’ve also produced a handy guide for practitioners with top tips for examining children’s eyes from helping younger patients feel at ease in the consulting room to making the most of technology.’
