AOP moves to Clerkenwell

Having settled into a its new home the Association of Optometrists will next week host an official opening event.

Guests have been invited to the new £4m office premises in Clerkenwell, London, on September 13.

It follows an initial move on August 22, which also included the Local Optical Committee Support Unit and Optometry Giving Sight organisations, and follows five years of planning.

Lord Howe, Parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Department of Health, will be on hand to cut the red tape. 

AOP chief executive, Bob Hughes, said: ‘We are delighted that Lord Howe will be officially opening our new premises next week. As part of a £4m investment, the AOP now owns a range of prestigious facilities which will stand as a statement of our confidence in the future of the profession.
