Burglars have targeted the offices of the Association of Optometrists for the second time in six weeks, assaulting a security guard in the process.
Robbers seriously assaulted the guard at the brand new Clerkenwell site before stealing six computers.
AOP chief executive, Bob Hughes, said: 'All the staff here were very upset about the robbery, but most of all about the attack on the security guard. We understand that he has recovered from his injuries.
'Police believe that the perpetrators are serious criminals, working in a planned manner, rather than opportunistic thieves.'
The latest incident occurred during the night of Sunday, October 2 and followed an earlier break-in during September when two computers were stolen.
