
Six new council appointments have been announced by the Association of Optometrists (AOP), representing various modes of practice and career stages.
The newly appointed councillors included Rebecca Donnelly, representing franchisees and joint venture partners; Niall Hynes, representing academic optometrists and Parminder Kaur, presenting domiciliary care optometrists.
Councillor Ki Yan Lam will represent newly qualified optometrists; Deepali Poojara, pre-registration optometrists and Judith Tate, Northern Ireland. The undergraduate student council position was yet to be confirmed.
Adam Sampson, AOP chief executive, said: ‘I am pleased to welcome our newly appointed Council members as they step into their roles representing our members and guiding the profession.’
