A new app allows patients to conduct basic eye screenings at home

A new mobile app has been launched by Essilor that allows patients to conduct basic eye screenings at home.
Essilor explained that once the app had screened a patient’s eyes it would then signpost them to a local independent optician for a full eye exam. The test took less than ten minutes and included a Landolt ring detection test.
Essilor’s managing director, Tim Precious, hoped it would remind patients of the importance of eye care after the pandemic. He said: ‘My Vision Check will help drive these consumers back into practice for an eye examination.’
