APPG panel calls for embedding eye care in 10-year national plan

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eye health and visual impairment hosted a panel discussion on the future of eye care within the government’s 10-year health plan at the Houses of Parliament on April 28. 

Marsha De Cordova, MP for Battersea and chair of the panel, said: ‘This event is about ensuring we embed eye care in the plan. It is about what changes we need to see to improve services.’ 

Shockat Adam, MP for Leicester South and the first practising optometrist to be elected to parliament, stressed the importance of high street healthcare professions helping to reduce irreversible sight loss.
