A new research study at Aston University is aiming to create an evidence-based decision-making aid for practitioners to help them give advice to patients regarding nutrition.

The link between nutrition and eye disease is widely known but what specific advice might be offered to patients presenting with differing states of eye health is less clear and changes as new evidence is published.

‘The aid is designed to guide practitioners to give the most up to date nutrition advice based on the AREDS 2 study,’ said PhD student Rebekkah Stevens.

Practitioners who complete an online survey can download the decision-making aid.

It was hoped that data generated will help in the design of a practice tool allowing the best advice to be offered to patients in future. To take part contact r.stevens3@aston.ac.uk
