Aston University ranked number one

Aston University has been ranked number one out of the 76 UK universities offering degrees allied to medicine such as ophthalmics, complementary medicine and physiotherapy in The Independent's Complete University Guide 2010.

The impartial guide also ranked the university the 13th best higher education establishment overall out of the 113 UK universities.

The annual guide provides prospective and current students with a comprehensive overview of universities, and analyses everything from academic strengths and research, through to facilities, student support and student satisfaction.

Aston's student support and facility strengths also ranked highly, with the institution being placed ninth in the UK for student satisfaction, its spending on student facilities ranked third, and graduate prospects placed 17th in the UK.
