Eight out of ten people in the UK and US surveyed by online bespoke frame supplier Atelier Eyewear have been found to be wearing an incorrectly sized frame, the company has said.

Specific visitors to the site were asked to take part in a survey where they submitted sizing details of their current frame. Visitors were then measured the company’s proprietary measurement software, UltraTool, which creates 3D scans of facial and cranial features ahead of the production of custom-made ophthalmic frames or sunglasses.

The study found that 60 per cent of visitors were wearing a frame with a nose bridge which was too tight, 71 per cent had a frame where the temples were too short and that 65 per cent of users had glasses which were too wide.
