More than one in three spectacle-wearing patients said they were willing to pay more for designer frames, a new market report from Key Note has found.
According to the company’s consumer survey, the proportion of glasses wearers who said they would spend more for designer frames had increased from nearly 30 per cent in 2013 to almost 40 per cent in 2015.
It also found of those who wore glasses and/or contact lenses, nearly three-quarters kept a spare pair of glasses or contact lenses as back up to the existing ones. In addition, nearly two-thirds said they would prefer glasses over contact lenses due to the practicality and costs, compared with just over a 10th who preferred contact lenses over glasses because they were more convenient and less obtrusive.
