Atkins takes on BCLA presidency

Nick Atkins was announced as the new president of the BCLA at the Association's 31st Clinical Conference and Exhibition in Manchester last weekend. The event attracted over 1,000 registered delegates.

Atkins is a contact lens optician who gained commercial expertise at Bausch & Lomb, where he rose to head of marketing for its UK contact lens business, and as general manager of the Advance VisionCare refractive surgery clinic in London's Harley Street.

In the past three years, he has established PTR Consultants, a sister company to the training company Proven Track Record which he created with two fellow dispensing opticians in 2002.
