Eyewear supplier Atlantic Optical has partnered with the Ocean Conservation Trust (OCT) to support the Blue Meadows seagrass restoration project.
The company said it had chosen to support the project because seagrass meadows absorb 35 times more carbon than rainforests and support a variety of flora and fauna while protecting coastlines from erosion.
For every frame sold from the company’s Big & Tall Eco, which uses bio-acetate, Atlantic Optical will protect one square metre of seagrass.
Progress of the project will be shared across the company’s social media channels and staff will join the OCT in Plymouth on an experience day.
Atlantic Optical director Jayne Smerald said: ‘We are proud to announce this incredible charity partnership. It is a fantastic opportunity to support a charity with amazing ecological benefits.’
