Eco Eyewear’s plastic prevention project recycles 60 tons

To celebrate World Ocean Day on June 8, Eco Eyewear highlighted how its support for river and beach clean-ups prevented over 60 tons of plastic from reaching the ocean.

These initiatives in the Dominican Republic and Tanzania took place over several months and involved hundreds of volunteers, which the brand said represented its commitment to protecting the ocean.

Eco partnered with Waste Free Oceans in the Dominican Republic to ensure collected plastic was recycled and reused within the country’s emerging circular market.

In Tanzania, a waste-catching barrier was launched in Dar es Salaam’s Feza river and Eco worked with a local partner, the Recyclers, to recycle and repurpose the plastic into new products.
