Eco Eyewear clears 60 tonnes of ocean plastic

News Sustainability

Eco Eyewear announced that it has cleared more than 60 tonnes of ocean plastic, in partnership with NGO Waste Free Oceans and its Wave of Change initiative.

The milestone follows the success of Eco Eyewear’s River Cleanup Campaign in the Dominican Republic last year, another initiative dedicated to clearing plastic and involving hundreds of volunteers over several months.

The company extended its appreciation to those who have physically contributed by collecting waste from oceans, rivers and beaches as well as customers and brand enthusiasts who have shared their support.

Eco Eyewear, a carbon-negative eyewear brand, has created eyewear from recycled ocean plastic since 2009, enabling customers to make conscious eyewear choices while contributing to the efforts of ocean preservation.
