Bausch + Lomb UK has released more details about the voluntary recall of its EasySept Hydro+ 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution.
The product, subject to a recall notice by retail giant Tesco earlier this week, has been recalled across Europe based on internal testing that showed occasional occurrences where the residual peroxide remaining in the lens case after neutralisation did not meet product specification.
If the residual hydrogen peroxide is above product specification the user of the product could experience temporary symptoms including burning, stinging, irritation and red eye, B+L said in a statement.
It said the voluntary recall represented low risk to the consumer and was unlikely to cause serious health consequences. There had been no reports of adverse incidents in relation to this voluntary recall.
