Nominations were sought for 'committed and passionate' new British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) council members to help decide and deliver the strategic direction of the BCLA and represent member wishes.

Optometrists, including newly qualified optometrists, contact lens opticians, ophthalmologists, those from the industry and those from the technical area of the profession nominations were welcomed.

All council members would be expected to provide top level leadership, promote and encourage BCLA membership plus attend council meetings, CPD events and its conferences.

BCLA chief executive Luke Stevens-Burt said: ‘A BCLA council member has a passion for contact lenses and anterior eye health. Council members are expected to know, understand and support our mission, goals, policies, programmes, services, strengths, and needs.’
