BCLA seeks decision-makers

The Association has said it is on the hunt for new council members

The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) has said it is on the hunt for new council members and has opened nominations prior to its elections.

The Association is looking for ‘committed, passionate members’ to represent their peers, ‘take a seat at the top table influence decision-making’. It said it would welcome nominations from optometrists, contact lens opticians and ophthalmologists as well as those from technical and commercial areas of the profession.

Luke Stevens-Burt, BCLA chief executive, said: ‘You would be joining council at an extremely interesting time and will play an integral part in deciding and delivering the strategic direction of the BCLA.’

He added: ‘Council members are expected to know, understand and support the Association’s mission, goals, policies, programmes, services, strengths and needs.’

Nominations close July 27 and only UK-based full members of BCLA are eligible to apply or be nominated for election.
