The British Contact Lens Associations (BCLA) has opened an electronic ballot to elect four new council members after receiving a record number of nominations.
Last month, the BCLA issued a call for nominations for two contact lens optician representatives, two optometric representatives, one medical representative and one technical representative.
Professor Sunil Shah will join the BCLA Council next month, and Maxine Green will remain on Council as technical representative. Both vacancies were uncontested.
BCLA CEO Cheryl Donnelly said: ‘With a general election just weeks away, we’re really getting into the voting swing here at the BCLA with our recently announced industry award ballot and now our council elections.
