Eye care professionals have been encouraged by the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) to sign up for Love Your Lenses Week 2023.
Luke Stevens-Burt, chief executive of the BCLA, said: ‘The BCLA is passionate about the role contact lenses play in eye health and we know eye care professionals around the world are too.
‘They can change lives for the better and we want the eye health community to join us as we share important messages with the public about contact lenses.’
This year’s campaign will take place on September 4-10 and the BCLA said it would ‘put contact lenses firmly in the public eye.’
A printed and online resource pack, including t-shirts, pens, stickers, posters and digital assets has been made available to the first 200 UK-based practitioners that signed up.
‘The campaign raises awareness of safe contact lens wear and the benefits of wearing contact lenses while sharing stories of the life-changing impact lenses have had on people from all walks of life.
‘We want to inspire eye care professionals to get talking about contact lenses and highlight the importance of high-quality aftercare for continued healthy lens wear, and also sourcing their contact lenses from reputable, legal retailers,’ Stevens-Burt added.
