Summary papers outlining the findings of a global consensus report into presbyopia have been published by the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA).
The BCLA CLEAR Presbyopia report was originally published in Contact Lens and Anterior Eye between April and July 2024, with the new papers highlighting key points.
Lynn White, project executive for BCLA CLEAR Presbyopia, said: ‘This practical guide identifies the areas of interest within the papers including a new global consensus definition of presbyopia, an overview of epidemiology and diagnosis, management techniques and what to expect in the future.’
White added that the report supported eye care professionals with information supported by evidence and helped researchers identify gaps in knowledge.
Professor Philip Morgan, executive co-chair of the project, added: ‘This work will help direct future research efforts to both optimise products and improve patient care.’
