Readers are being invited to present a workshop at the British Contact Lens Association's Clinical Conference, and gain points towards BCLA Fellowship.
Proposals are now invited for clinical workshops at the 2006 conference, the Association's 30th, to be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, from May 19-21.
Any topic of relevance to clinical contact lens and anterior eye practice may be covered. Topics for the 2005 workshops included corneal reshaping, creating your own website and dry-eye management. Workshops last 90 minutes and consist of a short lecture or demonstration, followed by an opportunity for delegates to gain real hands-on experience.
Workshop presenters are entitled to complimentary conference registration and one night's accommodation at the conference hotel. From 2006, presenters can also gain points towards the new Fellowship scheme which allows members to use the suffix FBCLA after their names.
Applications should be submitted online at www.bcla.org.uk and include a 300-word abstract as well as stating four learning objectives for the workshop.
The deadline for submission of proposals is September 20.
