BCLA to host new event

Promoting contact lenses in practice will form the heart of a new event to be launched by the British Contact Lens Association next June.

BCLA UK will aim to build practitioners’ confidence through practical demonstrations, including how to promote contact lenses to customers and best practise to maximise success through the latest contact lenses and care systems.

The event, to be held at The Belfry in the Midlands, will feature hands-on workshops to improve confidence and be accessible by practitioners with a range of experience and knowledge levels.

Brian Tompkins, president of the BCLA, said the event would aim to improve all elements of a contact lens patient’s journey, from initial identification and fitting to meeting their needs as their vision changed. ‘Doing this effectively results in reduced dropouts and happy, loyal patients,’ he said.
