Sustainability in contact lenses will be the focus of a BCLA webinar on June 5, presented by CooperCompanies senior director Aldo Zucaro and University of Manchester research optometrist Sarah Smith.
The webinar, with insights from patients and manufacturers, would cover the quantity of waste generated, opportunities for responsible disposal and for practitioners to promote positive messaging plus work to develop plant-based plastics.
Luke Stevens-Burt, chief executive of the BCLA, said: ‘This webinar will share insights from contact lens wearers about their attitude to environmental concerns.
'We will also hear a manufacturer’s view on sustainability and the actions being taken to address the challenges of the green agenda.’
