Sarah Farrant and Rakesh Kapoor
Optometrist Sarah Farrant succeeded Rakesh Kapoor as president of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) at the professional body’s annual general meeting on June 5.
Farrant is the UK ambassador for the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society, former chair of the Somerset local optical committee and served on the College of Optometrists council for 12 years.
‘Having the chance to lead this wonderful Association is a huge honour and I am really looking forward to rolling my sleeves up and getting stuck in over the next 12 months,’ Farrant said.
Outgoing president Kapoor thanked BCLA members for their support during his tenure and said it had been one of the biggest privileges of his career.
