More than 70 trainee optometrists attended the inaugural British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) pre-reg RGP workshop at Aston University last weekend.

Run by BCLA president elect Susan Bowers and Professor James Wolffsohn, the day aimed to boost students’ confidence in RGP lens fitting ahead of their final assessments.

Bowers said: ‘It was a pleasure to help so many pre-reg students gain badly needed RGP fitting experience before their PQE assessments. All the students seemed very enthusiastic and I hope that they enjoyed their special day.’

The BCLA was now hoping to run two ‘Pass your RGP assessment’ days next year.
