A Specsavers store in Bedford has beat nearly 700 other Specsavers branches from the UK and Ireland to scoop the ‘Excellence in People Development and Engagement’ award.
The store was recognised for its continued commitment to providing Bedford residents with career opportunities in the optical sector.
Store director, Matt Stewart said: ‘Having an effective succession plan is fundamentally about having the long sighted vision to see its worth and understand its value, making the opportunities which exist clearly visible to the team.
‘At Bedford we are always trying to seek out and identify individuals with drive, ambition and potential, through effective observation, feedback, training and coaching, and then being able to nurture that talent and allow it to evolve.’
