Eight children from Belarus, affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, have had their eyes tested at Haine & Smith Opticians in Westbury, Wiltshire.
Four of the children were given spectacles to help aid their vision. The girls, aged between 8 and 10, are visiting Wiltshire for one month's recuperation with host families, organised by Chernobyl Children Lifeline.
Pictured with the girls are (from left) Mel Thelwell, Emma Bartlett and Keith Bottomley from Haine & Smith Opticians and Natasha, the group's leader and translator.
