Haine & Smith Opticians in Westbury recently carried out eye examinations and provided spectacles for four of the eight children visiting the area from Belarus.
The youngsters have all been affected by the lasting affects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and their month long trip was organised by the charity Chernobyl Children's Line. This is the 9th year that the optical chain with 19 practices throughout Wiltshire and the surrounding area has linked up with the charity. 'It's very rewarding to help the children while they are visiting,' said optical advisor, Viv Howse.
