Haine & Smith opticians has raised £20,000 in support of the Wiltshire Blind Association to mark its 30th anniversary. The group previously raised £10,000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association during its 25th anniversary.

'The Wiltshire Blind Association was chosen because it offers an indispensable service to the 1,700 people in Wiltshire who are registered blind or partially sighted,' said Barry Smith, senior partner of Haine & Smith.

'The Wiltshire Blind Association does a terrific job in offering individual assistance, often visiting people in their homes and improving their independence and quality of life. We are very grateful to everyone who has donated, in particular our suppliers Carl Zeiss, Advanced Medical Optics and Continental Eyewear.'

The group continues to collect money for the charity in collection boxes in its 18 practices and will be donating £2 from every private eye test for the next few months.
