A dispensing optician has reached the peak of Ben Nevis following a climb in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Sarah Flowers (centre left) drew together a team for the challenge, nicknamed The Ben Nevis Nutters (News 07.06.13).
Their 11-mile trek, finishing 1,344 metres above sea level, took eight hours to complete.
‘The climb was one of the most gruelling and demanding things I have ever done but I really enjoyed the challenge,’ said Flowers, of Specsavers Hoddesdon. ‘Everyone has been really generous and I am hoping to make a significant dent to the region’s £25,000 pledge.’
