Nearly 100 independent practitioners from the UK flew to Berlin with Carl Zeiss Vision last month to put the company’s new Drivesafe lens through its paces at an interactive driving event at Templehof Airport.

The event included practical workshops, presentations and with the support of Mercedes-Benz, motoring activities that saw attendees driving through custom-built obstacles designed to mimic difficult road conditions and demonstrate the benefits of the new lens.

Carl Zeiss said the lens was the result of research into the three most common issues experienced by drivers who wore spectacles: poor visibility in low light conditions, glare from oncoming cars and difficulty in refocusing when the eyes switch between the road, dashboard and mirrors.
