Holly Bailey, a dispensing optician based in Betchworth, has been suspended from the GOC’s register for three months by reason of misconduct.
A fitness to practise committee found Bailey’s actions to be dishonest and unprofessional after she took supply of a regulated, prescription-only medicine eye drop for personal use without consent.
While working at Specsavers in 2023, Bailey took 1% Cyclopentolate on multiple occasions from the practice’s supply to administer on herself.
Bailey had worked at the practice since October 2021 and was referred to the Council in August 2023 by the dispensing manager at the Specsavers after she was dismissed.
