Nuneaton-based DO erased by GOC

Nuneaton-based dispensing optician Jitesh Gadher was erased from the register by the General Optical Council with immediate suspension.  

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found Gadher’s practice was impaired by reason of misconduct after it was alleged he stole cash from the practice register during transactions with patients, which amounted to around £910 between 2019 and 2020.  

On one occasion, a patient purchased spectacles and Gadher took payment of £334.95 in cash but did not put the cash into the till and removed it without consent.  

He was also found to have falsely claimed to be an investigating officer and/or Fitness to Practise Committee member for the GOC on several occasions between 2016 and 2020.
