Worthing DO erased by GOC

A dispensing optician based in Worthing has been erased by the General Optical Council after a fitness to practise committee hearing.

Daniel Holden was erased by reason of misconduct in relation to fraudulently keeping up to £1,737 from till takings, stealing money during the cash reconciliation process and falsely declaring shortfalls to conceal his actions.

Holden took the money on 10 occasions between October 2020 and January 2021 during his employment at Specsavers. In April 2021, Holden stole money while conducting cash reconciliations and deliberately recorded false information relating to the amount short in takings.
