New from BIB Ophthalmic Instruments is the BIB SL-150, billed by the manufacturer as the 'world's lightest and most portable' handheld slit lamp. Weighing in at 150g, the slit lamp is said to be ideal for a range of uses, including domiciliary, paediatric, geriatric and postoperative evaluations.
Illumination is provided by LED, which helps ensure images are clear, sharp and free from glare. In addition, the device is claimed to have low heat radiation, making for more comfortable examinations.
The lamp has a continually adjustable slit image, slit length from 5mm to 11mm, 6X magnification and a working distance of 12-32mm.
