Mid-Optic has been awarded exclusive UK distribution rights for Hub Pharmaceuticals' ophthalmic diagnostic strips including an alternative to Fluorets.
A deal included BioGlo Fluorescein Strips, Lissamine Green Ophthalmic Strips and TearFlo Tear Test Strips, the company said.
Bausch+Lomb halted production of Fluorets late last month for commercial reasons (29.03.13), sparking panic about viable alternatives and confusion about their classifications.
Mid-Optic added that it had been given permission by the MHRA to market these products under a CE Mark while a full European review of this category of products takes place.
Launched at Optrafair, packs of 100 BioGlo strips would be available from April 22 and 300-strip packs within 2-3 weeks.
